INSTRUCTIONAL FOCUS STATEMENT
All Staff, Parents and students at world view high school will engage in a coordinated effort to have students show growth in critical thinking and reading comprehension skills through the implementation of a set of shared practices in literacy instruction.students will utilize their skills to develop and defend evidence-based thesis statements.
Practice 01
Core instructional time will be dedicated to work on reading comprehension and the demonstration of knowledge through classroom participation and writing — in every classroom, every day.
Practice 02
The instruction on reading comprehension will include:
- accountable talk
- the use of evidence based graphic organizers
- the seven habits of effective readers
